George Parisotto is the Administrative Director of the Division of Workers' Compensation. He was the luncheon speaker at the Employers Fraud Task Force November 27, 2018 meeting. His presentation discussed the creation of the DWC Anti Fraud Unit (AFU) in 2017. He explains how this unit makes use of the Workers' Compensation Information System (WCIS) and the Electronic Adjudication Management System (EAMS) databases to help fraud fighting efforts.
He discusses the implementation of new fraud prevention law, AB 1244, SB 1160, and AB 1422 clean up legislation, and changes to the Fraud Assessment Commission as a result of AB 2014.
He then discusses the results of the AFU efforts in terms of criminal investigations, and data sharing agreements with other law enforcement agencies.
He concludes his presentation by discussing updates to regulations regarding the Medical-Legal Fee Schedule, MTUS, the Drug Formulary, and the IMR process.
